  1. How long does it take to ship my vehicle?
There are two elements to the duration of the entire process:

    1. Pick up time is the amount of time needed to locate and assign a specific transport truck once your order is received.
    2. Transport time is the duration from the time the vehicle is loaded on to the transport truck at origin until it is delivered at the destination.

Pick up time is typically inside of 10 days. It may be longer in remote locations, due to weather issues, and/or our industry’s busiest time of the year (mid April to mid September).

Transit time is normally 7-10 days depending upon route and location. The truck usually carries 9-10 cars at a time. The driver coordinates with other customers as he loads and unloads across the country. Our industry is federally mandated and has restrictions on the number of hours the driver may be on the road in a given time period. There are times of delays due to security checks at weigh stations.

CarShippingQuotes recommends planning ahead which assists in making a smooth transport experience. We do understand that there are instances when you are not given that luxury. Therefore, we offer three types of service to cover your unique needs. If you need to schedule a specific day for pick up because you're flying out, you should consider the "Must Pick Up" service. If your needs are such that you need to ensure arrival of the vehicle at it's destination by a specific date, ask about our "Guaranteed Delivery" service. These are premium services which are extra depending on your area. Call one of our sales associates at (866) 350-7115 if you have any further questions.

  2. Do I need to provide notice?
The more advance notice you can give, the better. We do understand that sometimes you have to move last minute. We will provide the best service possible in either scenario.

  3. Do you allow anything inside the vehicle during transit?
Customers transporting inside the Continental US are allowed to put up to 100 pounds. of personal belongings in their vehicle. The extra weight must be confined in the trunk and/or back seat below window level. It also must be well secured. All personal items in the vehicle are placed there at the owners risk; they are not covered by the trucks insurance. We do not recommend packing electronics, breakable items or valuable items. Nothing is allowed in your vehicle if you are transporting to/from Hawaii.

  4. What kind of truck will it be transported on?
In most instances, your vehicle is transported on a 7-12 car Auto Transporter, just like the ones you see transporting new cars to dealerships. Some of these trucks are 80 feet long (which is 20 feet longer than a conventional freight truck or moving van), weigh close to 80,000 lbs fully loaded, and are almost 14 feet high. That makes them difficult to maneuver and restricts main roads that do have overhanging trees or low clearance bridges. Keep this in mind when providing home directions to the driver!

  5. Will my car go to a terminal?
In some cases it is necessary to use a local terminal to pick up or deliver your vehicle. This makes the loading and unloading process more efficient.

  6. What does door-to-door delivery mean?
The driver will get as close to your door as possible while considering the local traffic laws, driver safety and the safety of the vehicles on the auto transport truck. If it is determined that the driver cannot safely load/unload at your door, please direct the driver to the nearest safe loading zone. (i.e. a grocery store, school or church parking lot or any other location that is large enough and accessible).

  7. What forms of payment are accepted?
Visa, MasterCard, or Discover can be processed in real time using our Online Order Form. Once you enter your information, you will be directed to a secure server to process payment. You may also send a check (personal or company), money order, or cashier’s check. A minimum deposit of $250.00 is needed to initiate your order. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due COD (upon delivery in cash or certified funds). No other form of payment can be accepted on delivery. If you wish to make payment in full on your credit card, it should be paid in advance when you submit your order. Payment in full is required prior to unloading your vehicle.

  8. How does the entire process work?
Step 1-Place Order-Once you place your order and submit the needed information and deposit, transport of your vehicle will be scheduled as near as possible to the date you prescribe on the shipping order. You will receive an e-mail confirmation that we have received the necessary information to proceed with your order. It will have a copy of your order form as an attachment for your review. We highly recommend you make sure all the info is correct so there are no delays once your vehicle is assigned.

Step 2-Vehicle Assignment to Transport Truck When a specific transport truck has been assigned, you will receive an e-mail advising you of the estimated date of pick up and delivery. You will then receive a call close to the time of pick up(usually 12-24 hours notice) from the driver to schedule pick up date and time. Phone support is not available for status inquiries. Please submit all inquiries using the form located on the Contact page.

Step 3-Pick Up When the driver picks up your vehicle he will do a visual inspection of your vehicle on the bill of lading. You both will sign it and you will receive and copy. The same bill of lading will be present on delivery so you can re-inspect the car.

Step 4-Delivery The driver will also call in advance to schedule an approximate time/day for delivery. Any amount that was not paid at the initiation of the order is due and payable COD at this time. It's very unlikely that your car will sustain damage while being transported. In the unlikely event that damage should occur, please be sure to note it on the bill of lading and have the driver sign it. Damage claims cannot be processed by the drivers insurance company if it is not noted on the Bill of Lading at time of delivery.
